§52D-12 Duty of police officer to owner. Any stolen or lost property in the custody of a police officer shall be delivered to its owner or the owner's duly authorized agent upon satisfactory proof of ownership, and if to an agent, of the agency; subject to payment by the owner or agent of all reasonable expenses incurred in the preservation and safekeeping of the property.
