§ 42-102-3. Officers.
(a) The position of chairperson shall be unpaid and the individual who is appointed chairperson shall serve a three-year (3) term. The governor may reappoint the individual appointed chairperson to serve another three-year (3) term.
(b) The secretary of commerce shall be vice-chair and is authorized to preside over meetings in the absence of the chairperson.
(c) Executive director. The workforce board, in consultation with the governor, shall appoint an executive director who shall serve at the pleasure of the workforce board, provided that the executive director’s initial engagement by the workforce board shall be for a period of not more than three (3) years. The position of executive director shall be in the unclassified service of the state and he or she shall serve as the chief executive officer of the workforce board.
