The 2019 amendments. —
The first 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, deleted former paragraph (2), which read: “ ‘Commissioner’ means the Commissioner of Insurance.”; and redesignated former paragraphs (3) through (9) as present paragraphs (2) through (8), respectively. The second 2019 amendment, effective January 1, 2020, added paragraph (4.1). See Editor’s notes for applicability.
The 2020 amendments. —
The first 2020 amendment, effective January 1, 2021, added paragraphs (1), (4), (6), (8), and (12) through (15); redesignated former paragraph (1) as present paragraph (2); deleted former paragraphs (2) and (3), which provided the definitions of “covered entity” and “covered individual”; redesignated former paragraph (3.1) as present paragraph (3); and redesignated former paragraph (4) as present paragraph (5); redesignated former paragraphs (6) through (8) as present paragraphs (9) through (11), respectively; and rewrote paragraph (10). Ga. L. 2019, p. 940, § 4/HB 323 not codified by the General Assembly, provides, in part, that this Act shall apply to all contracts issued, delivered, or issued for delivery in this state on and after January 1, 2020.
Ga. L. 2020, p. 768, § 9(b)/HB 946 and Ga. L. 2020, p. 780, § 9(b)/SB 313, not codified by the General Assembly, provide that the amendment to this Code section is applicable to all contracts issued, delivered, or issued for delivery in this state on and after January 1, 2021.
