Nothing contained in the Osteopathic Medicine Act shall be construed as conferring any powers or authority not previously vested in osteopathic physicians or osteopathic physician assistants who hold licenses to practice osteopathic medicine under any pre-existing law or regulation unless such licensees are likewise licensed under the provisions of the Osteopathic Medicine Act.

Delayed repeals. — Laws 2021, ch. 54, § 49 repealed 61-10-18 NMSA 1978, effective July 1, 2022.
The 2016 amendment, effective July 1, 2016, added the cathcline, and updated and clarified the language in the section; after "Nothing", deleted "herein", after "contained", added "in the Osteopathic Medicine Act", after "powers or authority not", deleted "heretofore" and added "previously", after "vested in osteopathic physicians", added "or osteopathic physician assistants", after "who hold licenses to practice", deleted "osteopathy" and added "osteopathic medicine", after "unless such licensees", deleted "be" and added "are", and after "licensed under the provisions of", deleted "this" and added "the Osteopathic Medicine".
