The 2018 amendment, effective May 3, 2018, deleted “which may be” following “any judgment” in the last sentence of subsection (a); and added subsection (e). See Editor’s notes for applicability.
The 2020 amendment, effective January 1, 2021, deleted “by registered or certified mail, statutory overnight delivery with return receipt requested, or” preceding “electronically” in the middle of subsection (c).
The 2022 amendment, effective July 1, 2022, deleted “by registered or certified mail” following “to the department” in the first and third sentences of subsection (a) and in the introductory language of subsection (d); inserted “written” in the last sentence in subsection (a); revised punctuation in paragraph (d)(4); and added the last sentence in subsection (e).

Ga. L. 2018, p. 214, § 26(b)/HB 780, not codified by the General Assembly, provides that: “It is not the intent of the General Assembly to affect the law applicable to litigation pending as of March 9, 2018.
