Article 13 - Licensing of Mortgage Lenders and Mortgage Brokers
§ 7-1-1004. Investigation of Applicant and Its Officers; Audit; Education, Experience, and Other Requirements Relative to Licensees and Registrants

(A) Three hours of federal law and regulations;
(B) Two hours of ethics, which shall include instruction on fraud, consumer protection, and fair lending issues; and
(C) Two hours of training related to lending standards for the nontraditional mortgage product marketplace.

The 2020 amendment, effective July 29, 2020, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, substituted “Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry” for “Nation-wide Multistate Licensing System and Registry” throughout this Code section; and substituted “subsection (g)” for “subsection (f)” in paragraph (g)(5).
The 2022 amendment, effective May 2, 2022, in the first sentence in subsections (h) and (i), substituted “covered employee” for “agent, employee”; and substituted “Governor” for “governor” near the end of the second sentence in subsection (h).
