§ 42-1-10. Preliminary Urine Screen Drug Tests

History. Code 1981, § 42-1-10 , enacted by Ga. L. 1992, p. 3234, § 1; Ga. L. 2015, p. 422, § 5-63/HB 310; Ga. L. 2021, p. 472, § 3/HB 93.
The 2015 amendment, effective July 1, 2015, substituted “community supervision officer of the Department of Community Supervision or” for “probation officer, parole officer, or other” near the beginning of the introductory paragraph of subsection (a); in subsection (b), inserted “, Department of Community Supervision,” near the beginning of the first sentence, and substituted “Community supervision officers of the Department of Community Supervision or” for “Probation officers, parole officers, or other” at the beginning of the second sentence. The 2021 amendment, effective July 1, 2021, substituted “test by a clinical laboratory certified by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services” for “test by a licensed clinical laboratory” in the middle of the third sentence of subsection (b).

Ga. L. 2015, p. 422, § 6-1/HB 310, not codified by the General Assembly, provides that: “This Act shall become effective July 1, 2015, and shall apply to sentences entered on or after such date.”
