Article 1 - General Provisions
§ 33-13-4. Registration of Insurers Belonging to Holding Company Systems

Any insurer which is subject to registration under this Code section shall register within 15 days after it becomes subject to registration and annually thereafter by April 30 of each year for the previous calendar year, unless the Commissioner for good cause shown extends the time for registration, and then within the extended time. The Commissioner may require any insurer authorized to do business in this state which is a member of an insurance holding company system, and which is not subject to registration under this Code section, to furnish a copy of the registration statement, the summary specified in subsection (c) of this Code section, or other information filed by the insurance company with the insurance regulatory authority of its domiciliary jurisdiction.

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, in subsection (b), inserted “and adopted by regulation promulgated by the Commissioner or as otherwise prescribed by regulation promulgated by the Commissioner” in the introductory paragraph, deleted “currently” following “and transactions” in the introductory language of paragraph (b)(3), and, in paragraph (b)(5), inserted a comma following “may include” and following “not limited to” in the first sentence and deleted “that have been” following “corporation financial statements” in the last sentence; and added the language following “National Association of Insurance Commissioners” at the end of subsection (l).
The 2022 amendment, effective July 1, 2022, substituted “NAIC” for “National Association of Insurance Commissioners” in the introductory language of subsection (b); added the last sentence in subsection (d); redesignated the existing provisions of subsection (l) as paragraph (l)(1) and added paragraphs (l)(2) and (l)(3); and substituted “NAIC” for “National Association of Insurance Commissioners” in the third sentence in paragraph (l)(1).
