The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, substituted “qualified local government as defined in paragraph 18 of subsection (a) of Code Section 50-8-2, any constituted recreation authority registered with the Department of Community Affairs, any state agency, or any nongovernmental” for “city, county, department, agency, or nongovernmental” in the middle of the first sentence of subsection (a); in paragraph (a)(2), in the second sentence, substituted “such applicants” for “local governments” in the middle, and deleted “within the jurisdiction and under the control of such local governments” following “trails” at the end; and added subsection (d).

Pursuant to Code Section 28-9-5, in 2018, “area” was substituted for “areas” at the end of division (a)(4)(A)(i).
