In consideration of the sum of one dollar, the Joint Committee on Legislative Management shall lease or sublease, as appropriate, the Old State House to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Such lease or sublease shall be for a term that is coterminous with the Joint Committee on Legislative Management's lease with the city of Hartford for said Old State House that is in effect as of July 1, 2016. Upon execution of such lease or sublease, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection shall be responsible for the care, maintenance and operation of the Old State House.
