The board is authorized and expected to provide land use standards for the district, applying the same standards and responsibilities applicable to a municipal planning commission pursuant to Chapter 52 of Title 11. The provisions adopted by the board created for the district shall be submitted to the county commission for approval. However, the county commission may not disapprove the master plan unless it is inconsistent with a preexisting countywide or regional plan in effect at the time of submission.
