(2) No person shall be recognized as a commissioned officer of the organized militia and no appointment as such shall become effective until the person has taken and subscribed an oath of office as prescribed by applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Such oath shall be taken and subscribed before an officer of the organized militia authorized to administer oaths as provided in ORS 399.150, or before a notary public. [1961 c.454 ยง54]
