§ 40-9-18. Blindness prevention.
(a) The department of human services shall, in consultation with the governor’s advisory council for the blind and Saving Sight Rhode Island, establish a blindness-prevention program for children of the state of Rhode Island to promote the screening, testing, diagnosis, and treatment of blindness diseases of the eye and other sight disorders.
(b) The department of human services shall promulgate rules and regulations in order to effectuate the purposes of this section.
