§ 23-26-30. Registration required — Application — Issuance and term of registration.
No person shall be engaged: (1) As a manufacturer of articles of bedding for sale at wholesale; (2) As a manufacturer of articles of bedding for sale at retail; (3) As a supply dealer; (4) As a repairer-renovator; or (5) As a retailer of second-hand articles of bedding, unless he or she has obtained the appropriate numbered registration therefor from the director, who is hereby empowered to issue the registration. Application for the registration shall be made on forms provided by the director and shall contain such information as the director may deem material and necessary. Based on the information furnished in the application and on any investigation deemed necessary by the director, the applicant’s classification shall be determined. Each registration issued by the director pursuant to this section shall be conspicuously posted in the establishment of the person to whom issued. The director may withhold the issuance of a registration to any person who shall make any false statement in the application for a registration under this chapter. The director shall promulgate rules and regulations mandating the term of registration for each category of registration issued pursuant to this chapter; however, no registration shall remain in force for a period in excess of three (3) years. The fee for the initial issuance or renewal of a registration shall be determined by multiplying the per annum fee by the number of years in the term of the registration. The entire fee shall be paid in full for the total number of years of registration prior to the issuance of the registration.
