§ 16-57-7. Council on postsecondary education.
(a) The council on postsecondary education established pursuant to § 16-59-1 shall retain all authority formerly vested in the higher education assistance authority board of directors, except as provided by § 16-57-6.1. Whenever in any general or public law reference is made to the “board of directors of the higher education assistance authority,” the reference shall be deemed to refer to and mean the “council on postsecondary education.” The council on postsecondary education shall be the employer of record for the division of higher education assistance.
(b) No full-time employee shall, during the period of his or her employment by the division, engage in any other private employment, profession, or business, except with the approval of the commissioner of postsecondary education; provided, that the executive director shall not engage in any other private employment, profession, or business, including, but not limited to, consulting.
