113B-2. Creation of Energy Policy Council; purpose of Council.
(a) The Energy Policy Council is created to advise and make recommendations on increasing domestic energy exploration, development, and production within the State and region to promote economic growth and job creation to the Governor and the General Assembly. The Energy Policy Council shall be located within the Department of Environmental Quality.
(b) Except as otherwise provided in this Chapter, the powers, duties and functions of the Energy Policy Council shall be as prescribed by the Secretary of Environmental Quality.
(c) The Energy Policy Council shall serve as the central energy policy planning body of the State and shall communicate and cooperate with federal, State, regional and local bodies and agencies to the end of effecting a coordinated energy policy.
