(a) Any person who receives a copy of or an original supported
decision-making agreement and has cause to believe the decision-maker is
being abused, physically coerced, or financially exploited by a
supporter, may report the alleged abuse, physical coercion, or financial
exploitation to adult protective services pursuant to section four
hundred seventy-three of the social services law.
(b) Nothing in this section may be construed as eliminating or
limiting a person's duty or requirement to report under any other
statute or regulation.
* NB Effective 90 days from the date that the regulations issued in
accordance with ยง 1 of chapter 481 of 2022 appear in the New York State
Register or the date such regulations are adopted, whichever is later.
