ยง 363. Certain cities; appointment of deputy commissioners and others;
removal. 1. The commissioner of health in cities having a population of
fifty thousand to one hundred seventy-five thousand may appoint and at
pleasure remove a deputy commissioner of health who shall be qualified
as prescribed in the sanitary code.
2. The commissioner of health in cities having a population of fifty
thousand to one hundred seventy-five thousand or health officer in
cities having a population of less than fifty thousand shall appoint
such subordinates as shall be prescribed by the board of estimate and
apportionment or other board or authority in such cities which is by
charter authorized to designate the number of employees.
