Article 53 - School Elections in City School Districts of Cities With Less Than One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Inhabitants
2602 - Annual and Special School District Meetings.

ยง 2602. Annual and special school district meetings. 1. Except as
otherwise provided in this chapter, including the provisions of this
article, an annual school election shall be held on the same day as the
annual budget vote pursuant to the provisions of article forty-one of
this chapter in each city school district.

2. Except as otherwise provided in section twenty-six hundred one-a of
this article, special school district meetings may be called in each
city school district by the board of education thereof in accordance
with sections two thousand four and two thousand seven of this chapter,
whenever such board shall deem it necessary and proper.

3. Notwithstanding any provisions of article forty-one of this chapter
to the contrary, the polls of such annual and special district meetings
shall be open during such consecutive hours, not less than nine,
beginning not earlier than six o'clock in the forenoon, and two of which
hours shall be after six o'clock in the evening, as the board of
education shall by resolution determine.
