* § 230-a. Infection control standards. Notwithstanding any law to the
contrary, including section sixty-five hundred thirty-two of the
education law, the department shall promulgate rules or regulations
describing scientifically accepted barrier precautions and infection
control practices as standards of professional medical conduct for
persons licensed under articles one hundred thirty-one and one hundred
thirty-one-B of the education law. The department shall consult with the
education department to ensure that regulatory standards for
scientifically acceptable barrier precautions and infection prevention
techniques promulgated pursuant to this section are consistent, as far
as appropriate with such standards adopted by the education department
applicable to persons licensed under the education law other than
articles one hundred thirty-one and one hundred thirty-one-B of such
law.
