ยง 123-a. Defacing marks on logs or lumber. A person who (a) unlawfully
cuts out, alters, or defaces any mark, made on any log or lumber
floating in any of the waters of this state or lying upon land, whether
or not such mark be recorded pursuant to the provisions of the
navigation law, or (b) puts a false mark on any such log or lumber, is
guilty of a misdemeanor.
