§ 102. Associate and assistant commissioners. The commissioner of
education shall appoint, subject to the approval of the regents, such
associate and assistant commissioners as he shall deem necessary for the
proper organization and general classification of the work of the
department, and assign to such associate and assistant commissioners the
work which shall be under their respective supervision.
