Within appropriations and budgetary limitations, the district court may employ and select clerical assistants for magistrates.

The 2021 amendment, effective June 18, 2021, transferred duties of the administrative office of the courts to individual judicial districts; and after "limitations", deleted "each magistrate, or the presiding magistrate of a multi-magistrate court, may select and the administrative office of the courts" and added "the district court", and after "may employ", added "and select".
