Chapter 283 - Resignations, Vacancies and Removals
NRS 283.110 - Vacancy in state office filled by Governor; term of appointee.

Whenever any vacancy shall occur in the office of any state officer, the Governor shall fill the same by granting a commission, which shall expire at the next general election by the people and upon the qualification of a successor, at which election such officer shall be chosen for the balance of the unexpired term.
