50-63-401. Insurer to provide information regarding fire loss to certain agencies upon request. Each insurer engaged in issuing fire insurance policies in the state of Montana shall upon written request of any appropriate law enforcement agency or governmental fire agency organized under Title 7, chapter 33, release to the requesting agency all information in its possession relating to a fire loss of real or personal property. The information may include but is not limited to:
(1) any insurance policy relevant to the fire loss under investigation and any application for the policy;
(2) premium payment records;
(3) the history of previous claims made by the insured for fire loss; and
(4) material relating to the investigation of the loss, including statements of any person, proof of loss, and other relevant evidence.
