Sec. 14.
(1) On the motion of a party at any time after the filing of a complaint in an action to annul a marriage or for a divorce or separate maintenance, the court may at any time during the pendency of the action prohibit a party from imposing any restraint on the moving party's personal liberty by entering a personal protection order under section 2950 or 2950a of the revised judicature act of 1961, Act No. 236 of the Public Acts of 1961, being sections 600.2950 and 600.2950a of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
(2) On the motion of a party, before or at the time of a judgment of divorce, order for separate maintenance, or decree of annulment, regardless of whether a personal protection order has been issued under subsection (1), the court may enter a personal protection order under section 2950 or 2950a of the revised judicature act of 1961, Act No. 236 of the Public Acts of 1961, being sections 600.2950 and 600.2950a of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
