Section 21 - Adoption Subsidy Program

Section 21. The department shall establish an adoption subsidy program for the purpose of facilitating the adoption of children with special needs who are in substitute care and who would not otherwise be placed in an appropriate adoptive home or be adopted. The department acting under such program shall take into consideration the circumstances of the adopting parents and the needs of the child being adopted and the department shall determine the amount to be paid by the department to the adoptive parents.
The department shall promulgate regulations to implement the provisions of this section.
