225.24 Collection of preliminary expense.
Unless a committed private patient or those legally responsible for the patient’s support offer to settle the amount of the claims, the regional administrator for the person’s county of residence shall collect, by action if necessary, the amount of all claims for per diem and expenses that have been approved by the regional administrator for the county and paid by the regional administrator as provided under section 225.21. Any amount collected shall be credited to the mental health and disability services region combined account created in accordance with section 331.391.
