Sec. 4.7. If a child who is a student attending kindergarten through grade 12 is taken into custody under IC 31-34-2, the department shall, not later than seventy-two (72) hours after the child is taken into custody, provide written or verbal notice to the individual designated as the point of contact for the school that the child attends that the child has been removed from the child's home.
