Sec. 0.01.
Short title.
This Act may be cited as the
County Surveyors Act.

Sec. 5.

The county board of each county which has not heretofore procured a
copy of the original field notes and plats of the United States surveys of
the lands in such county, shall procure such copies from the custodian of
the originals of such field notes and plats at the cost of the county. The
copies of such field notes and plats which have been or shall be procured
hereafter by any county shall be deposited and kept in the office of the
recorder of the county, and be at all reasonable times subject to
examination by all persons who may desire to examine same. All surveys
shall be made in accordance with the original surveys and the laws of the
United States governing surveys.

Sec. 10.

The original field notes of the United States surveys and copies
thereof, and all papers and documents pertaining thereto shall be
transferred by the Auditor of Public Accounts to the custody of the
Secretary of State. The Secretary of State shall deposit such field notes
and the documents and records pertaining thereto in the State Archives for
safe-keeping. Copies of such notes, records and documents made and
certified by the Secretary of State, under his official seal, shall be
competent evidence in all courts of this State.

Sec. 11.

All records and property heretofore belonging to the office of the
county surveyor shall be deposited with the recorder of the county and
shall be open to the inspection of all surveyors and other persons.
