Sec. 10-5. Standards of practice. All persons licensed under this Act
must comply with standards of professional home inspection adopted by the Department and
established by rule. The Department may consider nationally recognized standards and
codes prior to adopting the rules for the standards of practice.

Sec. 10-10. Retention of records. A person licensed under this Act shall
retain the original or a true and exact copy of all written contracts that engage the licensee's services as a home inspector and all home inspection reports,
including any supporting data used to develop the home inspection report, for a
period of 5 years or 2 years after the final disposition of any judicial
proceeding, which includes any appeal, in which testimony was given, whichever is longer.
