(e.1) Except for death certificates and assigning a percentage of a disability rating, an advanced practice registered nurse may be delegated the authority to sign, certify, and endorse all documents relating to health care provided to a patient within his or her scope of authorized practice, including, but not limited to, documents relating to physical examination forms of all state agencies and verification and evaluation forms of the Department of Human Services, the State Board of Education, local boards of education, the Department of Community Health, and the Department of Corrections.
(4.1) In any community service board;
(g.1) A delegating physician may not enter into a nurse protocol agreement pursuant to this Code section with more than eight advanced practice registered nurses at any one time, may not supervise more than four advanced practice registered nurses at any one time pursuant to nurse protocol agreements, and shall not be required to conduct any meetings, observations, or review of medical records except as otherwise provided in this subsection, if the advanced practice registered nurses practice at a location that:
(g.2) A delegating physician may not enter into a nurse protocol agreement pursuant to this Code section with more than eight advanced practice registered nurses at any one time or supervise more than four advanced practice registered nurses at any one time in any emergency medical services system operated by, or on behalf of, any county, municipality, or hospital authority with a full-time medical director.

The 2019 amendments. —
The first 2019 amendment, effective April 25, 2019, rewrote paragraph (g)(10), which read: “In any emergency medical services system operated by, or on behalf of, any county, municipality, or hospital authority with a full-time medical director and who does not order drugs.” The second 2019 amendment, effective May 12, 2019, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, substituted “radiographic imaging tests” for “radiographic image tests” in the first sentence of paragraph (c)(3).
The 2020 amendment, effective January 1, 2021, substituted “Reserved” for the former provisions of paragraph (a)(9), which read: “ ‘Life threatening’ means an emergency situation in which a patient’s life or physical well-being will be harmed if certain testing is not performed immediately”; and deleted “in life threatening situations” preceding “radiographic” in paragraphs (a)(10) and (a)(11) and in subsection (b).
The 2021 amendment, effective May 10, 2021, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, substituted “evidence based” for “evidence-based” in paragraph (g.1)(1); and substituted “on site” for “onsite” in paragraphs (g.1)(3) and (g.1)(4).
