§ 36-15-9. [Effective July 1, 2023. See note.] Collection of Additional Costs in Court Cases; Amount; Determination of Need as Prerequisite to Collection; Collection in Certain Criminal Cases

(a.1) In any county having a population of more than 550,000 according to the United States decennial census of 1980 or any future such census, the power and authority provided in subsection (a) of this Code section for the chief judge shall be exercised by the superior court judge who has the most service as a superior court judge.

Delayed effective date.
Code Section 36-15-9 is set out twice in this Code. This version, as set out above, is effective July 1, 2023. For version effective until July 1, 2023, see the preceding version.
The 2022 amendment, effective July 1, 2023, substituted “petitions for review” for “certiorari” in the first sentence in subsection (a). See Editor’s notes for applicability.
