As used in this chapter:
provided, however, that information otherwise meeting the requirements of this paragraph shall nevertheless be considered “personal information” under this chapter if it is disclosed in violation of Code Section 33-39-14.

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, deleted former paragraph (5), which read: “ ‘Commissioner’ means the Commissioner of Insurance of the State of Georgia.”; redesignated former paragraphs (6) through (26) as present paragraphs (5) through (25), respectively; in paragraph (11), in the first sentence, deleted “medical service corporations, hospital service corporations,” following “including”, deleted a comma following “health care plans”, and substituted “Chapters 20 and 21” for “Chapters 18, 19, 20, and 21”; and inserted “that” near the beginning of the proviso following subparagraph (22)(B).
The 2020 amendment, effective July 29, 2020, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, inserted “of this title” at the end of the first sentence of paragraph (11).
