§ 29-2-6. Parental Consent to Temporary Guardianship; Failure to Consent; Minor’s Preference; Transfer to Juvenile Court

History. Code 1981, § 29-2-6 , enacted by Ga. L. 2004, p. 161, § 1; Ga. L. 2022, p. 198, § 1/HB 464.
The 2022 amendment, effective July 1, 2022, designated the existing provisions of subsection (f) as paragraphs (f)(1) and (f)(2); substituted “best interests of the minor, as determined in accordance with Code Section 15-11-26 and other applicable Georgia law” for “best interest of the minor” in paragraph (f)(1); in paragraph (f)(2), substituted “the court, may, in its discretion, enter an order transferring the petition to the juvenile court,” for “the court has the option to refer the petition to the juvenile court” and substituted “best interests of the minor” for “best interest of the minor”; and added paragraph (f)(3).
