Chapter 23A - Autonomous Vehicles
§ 50–2352.06. Civil penalties and other sanctions

(a)(1) An AV testing entity that violates this chapter, or a regulation promulgated pursuant to this chapter, shall be subject to a civil penalty of not more than $1,000 per offense.
(2) Each day of a violation of this chapter, or a regulation promulgated pursuant to this chapter, shall constitute a separate offense, and the penalties set forth in this subsection shall be applicable to each separate offense.
(b) In addition to, or in lieu of, the civil penalty described in subsection (a) of this section, the Department may modify, suspend, revoke, or deny an AV testing permit issued by the Department for a violation of this chapter, or a regulation promulgated pursuant to this chapter, after notice and opportunity for a hearing pursuant to § 50-2352.07.

Section 7186 of D.C. Law 24-45 repealed section 3 of D.C. Law 23-156 removing the applicability provision impacting this section. Therefore the creation of this section by Law 23-154 has been implemented.
Section 7186 of D.C. Act 24-159 repealed section 3 of D.C. Law 23-156 removing the applicability provision impacting this section. Therefore the creation of this section by Law 23-154 has been implemented.
Applicability of D.C. Law 23-156: § 3 of D.C. Law 23-156 provided that the creation of this section by § 2(c) of D.C. Law 23-156 is subject to the inclusion of the law’s fiscal effect in an approved budget and financial plan. Therefore that amendment has not been implemented.
