Chapter 3. THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER
§ 301. Commissioner; election; term.

(a) The Insurance Commissioner shall be the chief officer of the Insurance Department.
(b) The Commissioner shall be elected by the qualified electors of the State at a general election for a term of 4 years and shall be commissioned by the Governor.
(c) Subject to prior qualification by the oath required by § 302 of this title, the Commissioner shall assume office on the 1st Tuesday of January after election. The Commissioner shall hold office for the term for which elected and thereafter as provided by article XV, § 5, of the Delaware Constitution.
