[ Editor's note: This version of this section is effective until March 1, 2022. ] Any officer, agent, or employee of any municipality who orders, directs, compels, or requires any employee or other person in any such fire department, except one who may be at any time in command of the fire department, to be or remain on duty in such work or employment in any calendar month for a longer time than that provided for in section 8-13-107 except in cases of emergency, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one hundred days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
