[ Editor's note: This version of this section is effective until March 1, 2022. ] Any officer failing or refusing to pay over to the county treasurer or to the state treasurer the fees of his office, as provided in section 30-1-112, is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment, and may be removed from office by the court before which the conviction is had.
