Article 32 - School District Boards - Powers and Duties
§ 22-32-132. Diplomas - Veterans

(1) [ Editor's note: This version of the introductory portion to subsection (1) is effective November 11, 2021. ] Upon the request of an honorably discharged veteran or a discharged LGBT veteran, as defined in section 28-5-100.3, a board of education of a school district may award a diploma to the veteran if the veteran:











(a) [ Editor's note: This version of subsection (2)(a) is effective November 11, 2021. ] Posthumously to an honorably discharged veteran or discharged LGBT veteran, upon the request of an immediate family member or legal guardian of the veteran; or

(b) [ Editor's note: This version of subsection (2)(b) is effective November 11, 2021. ] Even though an honorably discharged veteran or discharged LGBT veteran has already successfully completed a high school equivalency examination, as defined in section 22-33-102 (8.5).
