(a) A member shall be separated from Department of Arkansas State Police employment the first day of the calendar month next following the month in which he or she attains age sixty-five (65).
(b) If, upon his or her separation from department employment, the member has five (5) or more years of actual service, he or she shall receive a pension provided for in § 24-6-214.
