The district court, without a jury, shall adjudicate paternity of a child.

Effective dates. — Laws 2009, ch. 215, § 20 made the New Mexico Uniform Parentage Act effective January 1, 2010.
No right to jury trial. — In a paternity proceeding the putative father is not entitled to a jury trial because such right did not exist at common law or by statute at the time the New Mexico Constitution was adopted. State ex rel. Human Servs. Dep't v. Aguirre, 1990-NMCA-083, 110 N.M. 528, 797 P.2d 317.
