Article 53 - Waters; Regulation of Use
Section 3-53-3 - Irrigation; regulation of public acequias.

A municipality may regulate the flow and use of water in public acequias for irrigating purposes.
History: 1953 Comp., § 14-54-3, enacted by Laws 1965, ch. 300.
Legislative intent. — The legislature did not intend, by implication, to empower cities to condemn, for street purposes, acequias used for irrigation purposes. Albuquerque v. Garcia, 1913-NMSC-006, 17 N.M. 445, 130 P. 118.
