Section 45-51-220.01 - Hunting Preserve - Site Requirements.

Each hunting preserve shall contain a minimum of 100 acres in one tract of leased or owned land, including water area, if any, and shall be restricted to not more than 1,000 contiguous acres including water, if any. The exterior boundaries of each hunting preserve shall be bordered by a single strand of wire or fences, except where rivers, creeks, roads, or other clearly defined demarcations or delineations form the boundary or a part thereof. Signs shall be erected at intervals of not less than 330 feet around the perimeter of the tract. At the top of each sign shall appear in letters not less than two inches high the words, "LICENSED HUNTING PRESERVE," and such other words as the commissioner may prescribe. No hunting preserve shall be located within one mile of any other such preserve or within one mile of any management area or refuge existing under state or federal law or regulations at the time of the establishment of such hunting preserve. No license shall be issued for any hunting preserve on which the shooting of turkeys is authorized.
